Title: Optimizing Cloud Computing Systems for e-Learning Activities
Supervisor: Professor Theodor BORANGIU
Start date: 2011
The thesis presents the design and implementation of a metering and monitoring application for a cloud computing platform. The challenge consists in collecting in real time and consolidating usage data for CPU, memory, network traffic, etc. The data will be collected at several levels: hypervisor, operating system, application, IBM TSAM and presented in an interactive Web 2.0 interface in real time. Also the application allows running reports on usage data in both manual and automated fashion.
The application is tightly integrated in the IBM Tivoli Service Automation Manager available in IBM Cloud Burst 2.1 and is built on IBM technology (IBM DB2 and IBM Web Sphere). The implementation is based on REST-API offered by IBM TSAM and on VMware vCenter API.
